
Why Trauma Matters in Chronic Fatigue
Many people living with long-term exhaustion have experienced periods of sustained stress earlier in life.

You may have come across the term Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) — a framework used to describe early experiences of:

Abuse

Neglect
-
Household dysfunction

Research shows that higher ACE exposure is linked with increased risk of long-term health challenges — including nervous system dysregulation and chronic fatigue.

But ACEs are only part of the picture.
​
Trauma can also include:

Prolonged adult stress

Medical trauma
-
Loss or grief
-
Relationship breakdown
-
Years spent in survival mode
Even when life looks “fine” now, the nervous system may still be operating as though it is under threat.
Energy is diverted toward protection.
Until that shifts, rebuilding can feel frustrating — or impossible.
What Trauma Release Involves
I use a structured process called Traumatic Incident Reduction (TIR).

This is a focused, one-to-one approach that allows you to:
🌿 Safely revisit unresolved incidents
🌿 Reduce their emotional intensity
🌿 Release stored stress responses
🌿 Restore a sense of internal safety
Unlike general talking therapy, TIR follows a clear structure.
You are in control throughout.
We move at your pace.
The aim is not to analyse —
but to allow the nervous system to complete what was left unfinished.
My work integrates current understanding of trauma physiology with structured processing methods designed to reduce nervous system load safely.

When unresolved stress reduces:

This does not “fix” fatigue overnight.
But it often removes significant barriers to progress.
