Zoe’s Energy Journey
Rebuilding Healthy Sleep Patterns After Years of Broken Sleep

Starting Point
When Zoe joined the Sleep Like a Baby! course, she had been struggling with broken sleep for several years.

Her sleep difficulties began after the loss of her father in 2015 and gradually worsened over time. Night-time disruptions from pets and a frightening incident outside her home had made things even more difficult.

“At worst I was waking every twenty minutes during the night,” Zoe explains.
“My sleep had become so broken that I knew I needed to do something to get it back onto an even keel.”

Ignoring the problem wasn’t working anymore. Zoe realised that if she wanted to restore her energy and focus, improving her sleep had to become a priority.
The Impact of Broken Sleep
Like many people experiencing poor sleep, the biggest impact for Zoe was constant exhaustion.

“When your sleep is broken, you never feel properly rested,” she says.
At the time, Zoe was also working hard to rebuild her business after the disruption caused by the pandemic.
“I needed to be motivated and focused every day. When you're running on empty, that becomes incredibly difficult.”
Waking up tired every morning left her feeling as though she was constantly trying to push through fatigue.
Taking a Chance on the Sleep Course
(4 week Sleep Like a Baby! Group Course)
When Suzanne told Zoe about the Sleep Like a Baby! programme, she decided to give it a try.

“I thought, why not? What have I got to lose?”

Zoe had already tried many common sleep techniques, including meditation and relaxation exercises, but none had made a lasting difference.

“I expected my sleep to improve a little,” she says. “But I honestly didn’t expect it to fully come back.”
Understanding Her Natural Sleep Cycle
One of the most important breakthroughs for Zoe came from understanding how sleep cycles actually work.

The course helped her recognise the natural rhythm of her body and how timing her sleep more carefully could support deeper rest.

“No doctor or counsellor had ever explained my sleep cycle to me like that before,” Zoe says.

By paying attention to her natural sleep timing, Zoe began to experience something that had been absent for years.

“For the first time since my dad passed away, I started sleeping through the night.”

She also learned how to adjust her sleep schedule depending on when she went to bed, allowing her body to stay in a healthy rhythm.

“Just understanding my sleep cycle was the biggest takeaway.”
Feeling Rested Again
The difference in Zoe’s daily life was immediate.

Instead of struggling to get out of bed each morning, she began waking up naturally feeling ready to start the day.

“Before the course I would hit the snooze button multiple times because I was so exhausted.”

Now things feel very different.

“One morning I woke up before my alarm and simply turned it off because I felt rested enough to get up.”

Better sleep also improved her productivity and focus during the day.

“When you're properly rested, everything becomes easier.”
Knowledge Really Is Power
Looking back, Zoe believes the most powerful part of the course was gaining a deeper understanding of how sleep works.

“Sleep affects everything — your productivity, how you feel, even your eating habits.”

The course provided practical tools and knowledge that allowed Zoe to regain control of her sleep patterns.

“It wasn’t invasive or complicated. It simply gave me the understanding and tools I needed.”

Advice for Anyone Struggling With Sleep
For anyone experiencing ongoing sleep problems, Zoe’s advice is simple.

“If you’re struggling with sleep, try it. What have you got to lose?”

Understanding how sleep cycles work helped her rebuild a healthy sleep pattern after years of disruption.

“Knowledge is power. Once I understood how my sleep works, everything started to make sense.”
