Rachel’s Energy Journey

From Burnout and Indecision to Clarity and Creative Direction

Starting Point

When Rachel began the Your Energy – Your Way programme, she had been on sick leave for two months.

At 53, she had built a successful, demanding corporate career.

She worked with supportive colleagues and a good company.

But years of chronic stress — compounded by Covid and the loss of both her parents — had taken their toll.

She described herself as burnt out:

“Mentally, physically, and emotionally exhausted.”

Although she had tried counselling and taken extended leave, her energy didn’t recover.

“I had a long list of things I wanted to do, but very little energy to do them.”

She also felt stuck in indecision — unsure whether to return to work or leave her career entirely.

That uncertainty was draining in itself.

What Wasn’t Working

Rachel had experienced chronic fatigue nearly 20 years earlier.

At that time, she had recovered by taking a year off, travelling and reconnecting with creativity.

But this time felt different.

She was older.
Responsibilities were greater.
And simply resting wasn’t restoring her energy.

She found herself pushing until she broke.

“I have a tendency to keep pushing myself to the limit.”

The deeper question wasn’t just about fatigue.

It was about alignment.

What We Focused On

(Your Energy – Your Way
14 Week 1:1 Programme)

Together, we approached her recovery from an energy perspective.

Inside the programme, Rachel:

🌿 Explored nervous system overload
🌿 Identified repeating burnout patterns
🌿 Reflected on past fatigue experiences
🌿 Measured energy shifts week by week
🌿 Learned to recognise early warning signs
🌿 Clarified values and long-term direction
🌿 Built structured stepping stones

She discovered the concept of Highly Sensitive People (HSP), which resonated deeply.

Understanding her sensitivity reframed her work history and energy patterns.

“It gave me a completely different perspective.”

Within two weeks, she made a decisive choice to leave her job — removing a significant source of ongoing stress.

What Changed

Rachel’s progress was gradual.

Her energy increased by approximately 45% over the course of the programme.

But more importantly, her relationship with energy changed.

“Suzanne would get me to notice when my energy was dipping — and stop instead of pushing.”

Rather than crashing unpredictably, she began adjusting earlier.

She developed a toolkit she could continue using independently.

She also gained clarity.

Ten weeks into the programme, she applied for a new full-time job — then realised it was simply the comfort of familiarity.

Her deeper truth was different.

“I have a clear idea now about what I want my future to look and feel like.”

Where She Is Now

Rachel is working toward making a living as an artist — something that had always been part of her identity.

She is completing a 12-week painting course.

She has created detailed financial plans to support her transition.

Her energy feels more balanced and self-regulated.

She no longer feels trapped in indecision.

“So much of the coaching was getting excited about how I want my life to be — and the stepping stones to get there.”

She continues with periodic follow-up sessions for accountability and refinement.

Rachel’s Reflection

“Counselling helped in its own way, but approaching things from an energy perspective changed everything.

I feel clearer.

I have tools.

I’m building the future I actually want.”

Could Your Energy Journey Look Different Too?

Every person arrives with their own story.

Some are dealing with chronic fatigue.
Some with fibromyalgia or burnout.
Others with years of broken sleep or nervous system overload.

What they share is a moment where they decide to explore their energy differently.

If something in this story felt familiar, you’re very welcome to begin a conversation.

A gentle 15-minute conversation to explore what’s going on and whether this approach might be helpful for you.
