Lorraine’s Energy Journey
From Exhausted Carer to Steadier, More Confident Living

Starting Point
When Lorraine began the Your Energy – Your Way programme, she was exhausted.

As a grandmother, mother, and full-time carer for her terminally ill husband, she had spent years putting everyone else first.

Every couple of weeks, she would experience a migraine that forced her into bed for three or four days at a time.

But it wasn’t just the migraines.
Her confidence had faded.
Her energy felt drained.
She described herself as being “on autopilot, just existing.”

“I’ve always been a people pleaser, so I’d go out of my way to keep everybody happy around me. I didn’t feel like me anymore.”
What Wasn’t Working
Lorraine wasn’t actively searching for support.

When migraines forced her to miss an important meeting, someone suggested she speak to Suzanne.

She admits she was hesitant — especially about investing in herself.

“I was at my wits’ end with the migraines and would have tried anything.”

At that stage, she was hoping simply for migraine relief.

What she hadn’t yet realised was how much emotional load and self-pressure she was carrying.
What We Focused On
(Your Energy – Your Way
14 Week 1:1 Programme)
Rather than traditional counselling, Lorraine experienced something different.

Each session was tailored to what she needed that week.

Together we worked on:

🌿 Anxiety management techniques
🌿 Nervous system calming tools (breathing and tapping)
🌿 Journaling for emotional processing
🌿 Boundary setting
🌿 Reducing people-pleasing patterns
🌿 Clarifying values and releasing external pressure

“It was like having a tutor, teaching me steps to help myself feel better.”

Over time, journaling became part of her bedtime routine — helping clear her mind before sleep.

One of her biggest breakthroughs was learning that saying “no” did not lead to catastrophe.

“I realised there were no consequences for saying no. People just learned to respect my time.”
What Changed
The changes weren’t dramatic overnight shifts.

They were steady.

Lorraine noticed:

-
Migraines becoming shorter and less frequent
-
Reduced anxiety
-
Improved sleep
-
Increased confidence
-
Less emotional reactivity
-
Greater sense of control
By the end of the 14 weeks, she had experienced only three migraines — none lasting more than a day.

Previously, they had lasted three to four days at a time.

“I don’t dread them anymore. I know how to manage them.”
Where She Is Now
Lorraine describes waking up without the familiar feeling of dread.

She has returned to horse riding for the first time in decades.

She runs her business with confidence, hosting live videos and events.

Perhaps most importantly, she no longer feels guilty about taking care of herself.

“I used to feel guilty about doing things for myself. Now I realise that looking after me looks after everyone else.”

Her relationship with her husband has softened too.

“I wish I’d learned these things 36 years ago!”

She doesn’t describe herself as “fixed.”

She describes herself as steadier.

More confident.

More equipped.

Lorraine’s Reflection
“I signed up hoping it would help with my migraines — but I got so much more.

I came out feeling lighter, like I could move forward without that heavy weight on my shoulders.

It’s changed how I live my life.”

Could Your Energy Journey Look Different Too?
Every person arrives with their own story.

Some are dealing with chronic fatigue.
Some with fibromyalgia or burnout.
Others with years of broken sleep or nervous system overload.
What they share is a moment where they decide to explore their energy differently.

If something in this story felt familiar, you’re very welcome to begin a conversation.
A gentle 15-minute conversation to explore what’s going on and whether this approach might be helpful for you.
